The Children's Art and Education Resources Program
(ChARTER)
ChARTER is a part of the United Way network
of agencies. This special program provides vulnerable populations
such as economically disadvantaged families, welfare recipients, children
in foster care, physically disadvantaged, and chronically ill children
free admission to all workshops and performances produced by
PCT.
The Program addresses the need to introduce these
populations to live theatre in order to promote socialization, family unity,
and classic literature through programming that speaks to the issues, problems
and challenges that all types of families face. The need described above is
especially prevalent in economically disadvantaged populations who would not
ordinarily have access to live theatre or practice participating in the arts.
If you contribute through
the United Way, please consider designating a pledge to the Philadelphia
Children's Theatre ChARTER program.
